The purpose course is to help you build a solid foundation as a Motion Designer. The foundation that we are talking about consists of core principles (design, communication, color, animation) as well as understanding the most effective process for creating work.

Entry level course

If you’re totally new to the field of motion design, then this course is for you. We cover the basics of design and animation, with a mix of Art History for context. This also includes software tutorials and project files to get you started with After Effects.

In-Depth Lectures

You’ll likely want to watch many of these videos at 2x speed because it’s a lot of information. But, we wanted to be overly thorough for this course and give beginners a full overview of just what Motion Design is. We want everyone to have access to this wonderful industry.

Software Training

This online course is designed to get you up and running with Illustrator and After Effects. We’ll look at preparing assets and animating them in After Effects. The animation tutorials are designed to help you master the 12 principles of animation.

Introduction to Motion Design

This is an overview of the motion design field. Our industry is a unique blend of design, animation and film. A motion designer must consider each of these disciplines to grow in their craft.

Design Principles & Demo's

You need to learn the rules before you can break them. Design principles are tried and true in defining what makes for compelling visual images. Concepts like contrast, emphasis, variety, and many others, shape the foundation of design principles.

Animations Principles & Demo's

Animation is an art form all it’s own. The principles of animation are essential if you want to become an animator. Every animation school in the world would start their introductory class with 12 principles of animation.

Production Process

Managing project files and staying organized is easy if you have a system in place. We’ll look at some simple ways to organize your production and create original films.

Project Case Studies

These are examples of projects from Michael’s portfolio. You’ll see full demo’s in creating design and animation with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects.
