What you'll learn
Mastering any discipline is about first understanding the fundamentals and then being guided to put ideas into practice. This course will help you master the traditional animation process.
Creating traditional cel animation requires proper planning for each shot. Henrique will show you the fastest way to plan for a successful animation. You’ll look at key concepts such as Animate shortcuts, timing, spacing and keyframes.
Now that we have a solid plan, it’s time to execute a great looking animation. Henrique does a deep dive into the techniques of execution. You’ll start with your key poses and work through the rest of the shot. He also teaches the value of timing charts which help you animate faster and with more precision in your spacing.
Traditional animation is about the illusion of life and energy. In this series of videos you’ll see how these ideas can be implemented into your 2d animation. This is where we go from simple movement, to the illusion of life. Very important concepts for creating dynamic 2d animation.
Adding complexity to your animation is about understanding a few key principles. In this series of training you’ll look at more advanced concepts like overlapping action and the wave principle. These are a big emphasis for Henrique in his work and he wants you to understand how to implement them in your work.
Creating character animation in 2d starts with solid posing. This week’s focus is all about strong and compelling character poses across your 2d shot. With an original character design provided by Fe Riberio, you’ll start posing your shot and preparing for a character animation.
In the final series of this course you’ll finalize your 2d character animation. Henrique will share his tricks of the trade in simplifying a character shot. Having done years of 2d character animation, Henrique has a host of tips and tricks you can use to help simplify this complex process.
