This is the Motion Graphics Designers quick start guide to Adobe Animate. Motion Graphics Artists usually focus on Abobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects, but Animate is becoming an essential tool for creating next level animated work. So if you’re new to Adobe Animate, let’s get you up and running with this 10 minute crash course.

We’ll do a quick overview of animation basics and do an animation exercise to show the process of creating with Adobe Animate. While this software can do a lot, you only need to know some absolute basics to get going. We’ll cover creating layers, onion skins, looping, using the brush tool, fill tool, animating a camera and editing our animations. We have long believed that traditional animation is an important part of developing as a motion graphics artist, so hopefully this quick start guide will help you get animating with Adobe Animate.

If you want to go deep on Adobe Animate and polishing your traditional animation skills we have a masterclass from animator Henrique Barone
